Based on material control at the atomic and molecular level, this department focuses on the creation, application, and development of new materials that can support a sustainable society. The focus is on comprehensively understanding functions manifested from materials and considering free thinking and activity to develop materials in an unexplored region. In other words, the aim is to develop researchers and scientists/engineers who can discover new materials and functions with basic analytical capacity, who can solve problems logically, and who can develop new materials with flexible ideas. In the latter half of the doctoral course, researchers and technologists aim to develop new materials based on wider visual fields and advanced specialized knowledge and transmit cutting-edge and original ideas at an international level.
