New methodologies should create new classes of molecules, which will eventually exhibit new and fascinating properties. Our objective is the development of novel, direct, and efficient transformations of functional molecules on the basis of modern organic synthesis. In particular, we are exploring metal-catalyzed reactions for the synthesis of functional π-systems, which are important in material and life sciences. Besides the synthesis of new molecules, we are also interested in elucidation of basic properties of them.
