Prof. Keiji Maruoka has been an outstanding scientist, making significant and impactful contributions to the advancement of organic synthesis and catalysis, particularly in the field of organocatalysis, through the design of a series of original molecular catalysts and their applications to a wide array of reaction development. He is actively leading his group after he turned 70 last year. Prof. Maruoka is also a great mentor and has guided many students and postdoctoral fellows, producing talented individuals for academia and industry. Not only to honor him and his legacy but also to inherit his mindset, the organizing committee holds an international conference as the 1st Maruoka Conference. The conference will bring together leading experts, share, and learn about the most recent advancements on various aspects of organic synthesis and catalysis. It will also aim to provide a fruitful opportunity for fostering young scientists with prospects for the future.
