- The Chemical Engineering Society's advanced training course "Water Treatment Revolution with Low-Cost High-Performance Technology" was organized by Prof. Hori. It attracted about 100 participants, making it a very successful seminar.

- The IGER International Symposium on Cell Surface Structures and Functions was held from September 1 to 3 at Nagoya University's ES Building. The symposium featured lectures in English by world-leading researchers on the latest research related to various biological interfaces. Students who excelled in the symposium's poster presentations were awarded, and three graduate students gave presentations in English. Mr. Yoshimoto from our laboratory was awarded for his presentation titled "Reversible Bacterial Immobilization Based on the Adhesive Property of a Novel Adhesin from Acinetobacter sp. Tol 5."

- Professor Hori joined as a new professor in the Third Course. The start of the Hori Laboratory.

- Professor Hori's research project was selected for the Leading-edge Research and Development Support Program by the Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Cabinet Office. This program selects 300 young and female researchers nationwide as the next generation of scientific leaders, distributing significant research funding.
